Definition: The BA Islamic Teachings and Pedagogical Studies program provides students with seminary courses, Islamic teachings as well as specialized courses of pedagogical studies and some discussions regarding Islamic teachings and instructing. Over successful completion of the course units the students will receive BA in Islamic Teachings and Pedagogical Studies. Objectives: 1. Familiarizing students with the fundamental Islamic reflections and strengthening religious principles in proportion to the educational level. 2. Familiarizing students with the pedagogical discussion in proportion to the educational level. 3. Familiarizing students with discussions relevant to the Islamic teaching and instructing 4. Increasing students skills in order to carry out dissemination, cultural and instructing activities 5. Preparing the grounds for the students to advance to postgraduate level in the field of Islamic Teachings and Pedagogical Studies. Importance and Necessity: Al-Mustafa International University, responsible for the education of non-Iranian students, has a tremendous duty of providing Islamic teachings globally and preparing the grounds for presenting the modern viewpoints and expanding the teachings of Islam. Thus, creating the Islamic Teachings and Pedagogical Studies program was necessary so that the students-through familiarity with fundamental Islamic teachings, strengthening their religious bases and their knowledge of pedagogical studies- get well-prepared for their missions and take effective steps in expanding Islamic teachings and applying their knowledge in the filed of Islamic teachings and pedagogical studies as well as dissemination. Program Structure: The BA Islamic Teachings and Pedagogical Studies program is studied over 5 years. The educational system is a combination of seminary and university systems which insists upon the positive aspects of seminary method of learning and teaching such as discussion and utilizes experiences of universities such as the method of applying the modern methods of education and research. The system is credit-based and each theoretical and practical credit is 16 and 32 hours respectively which will be presented in 16-week semesters. Course Units: There are a total of 177 credits to be studied in the BA Islamic Teachings and Pedagogical Studies program. The majority of the credits are theoretical and researched-based. Role and Effectiveness: As a practical course needed in life, the pedagogical field is a proper and important knowledge for explaining the Islamic viewpoints. It is because through familiarity with this knowledge and by applying it in Islamic teaching and training the grounds for Muslim students and teachers in the field of Islamic teaching and training would be laid.
