TRAINING COURSE

Definition:

MA Quran Literature is a program during which students learn specialized course units. Over successful completion of program, students are coffered MA Quran Literature.

 

Major Objectives:

  • Instructing lecturer for local and international seminary schools and universities in the field of Quran literature

  • Instructing researcher in the field

  • Instructing skillful academics in the field of religious texts particularly the Quran

  • Instructing religious disseminator

Note: disseminator here means the one who delivers the message of religion

  • Instructing distinct students to advance to higher educational levels

 

 

Educational Policies:

  • Encouraging students towards research through allocating a minimum of 30 per cent of credits to research works

  • Developing students skills in writing, teaching, and translating within the field

  • Developing comprehension skills of students so that they can read and comprehend technical texts

  • Promoting ethical and spiritual aspects in students and providing the proper environment to enrich moral values of students

  • Developing such skills as comprehending, analyzing, and comparing Arabic texts

  • Developing dissemination skills (regarding Quran and Traditions) through using academic sources

  • Comprehending Jurisprudence and Principles of Islamic Laws when needed

  • Basing the educational system on team-working and applying effective educational methods

  • Considering regional needs of students

  • Presenting a minimum of 40 per cent of course units in Arabic language

Admission:

Applicants who studied Islamic studies and Arabic Literature and Language can apply for the program.

Note: Applicants with other backgrounds can apply for the program; however, they need to pass pre-requisite course units.

 

Program structure and duration:

  • Total credits of the program are 64

  • Program structure is semester based with credits

  • Program is studied over 5 semesters (each semester lasts for 6 months)

  • Each theoretical course credit takes 16 hours and each practical one takes 32 hours

Importance and Necessity:

 

Since the Quran is the main source in the religion of Islam and as the Quran fulfills the  needs of Muslims as well as others, it would be necessary to conduct research studies on different aspects of the Quran. Also, due to the literary aspects and eloquence of the Quran, it is necessary to run the program as a complete program.

 

Role and effectiveness:

Graduates of the program have the skills to become researcher and/or lecturer in the field of Quran literature and play their part in elevating the culture of Islam to the world and by doing this, help interested people learn about the truth of Islam. They can also continue their education in higher educational levels and advance to higher goals.
