Definition:

The PhD History of Ahl-e Bayt (a.s) is the highest academic and specialized program in the field of history of Ahl-e Bayt (a.s) in which students carry out a collection of educational and research works and after successful completion of modules they will receive PhD.

General Objectives:

• Training researcher and expert in revenant areas

• Instructing lecturer for higher education levels

• Expanding the boundaries of knowledge in field of history of Ahl-e Bayt (a.s)

• Analyzing and explaining the history of Ahl-e Bayt (a.s) in an academic and methodical way

• Preparing the groundwork for training Mojtahid in the field of history of Ahl-e Bayt (a.s)

• Analyzing historical developments of Ahl-e Bayt (a.s) in order to find the truth

Educational Policies:

• Attaching importance to students’ moral and spiritual developments

• Attending to encouraging students toward research through allocating a minimum of 30 per cent of course unit time to research work (apart from dissertation)

• Nourishing effective researchers so that they can acquire the latest related developments

• Facilitating students’ access to the latest methods and tools used in research

• Helping students expand their skills in teaching, disseminating, translating and authoring

• Strengthening students’ proficiency in debates, criticizing and evaluating various fields and responding to modern questions and doubts regarding history of Ahl-e Bayt (a.s)

• Attaching importance to innovation and production of theories and knowledge in the field of history of Ahl-e Bayt (a.s)

Admission:

Students’ master degrees must be in the field of history of Ahl-e Bayt (a.s). The process of admission is based on the Admission General and Specific Regulations

Students with other academic backgrounds must pass the prerequisites according to the regulations

Program Structure:

• The program is studied over a maximum of 5 years

• PhD History of Ahl-e Bayt (a.s)contains 60 credits

• Theoretical and practical credits are respectively 16 and 32 hours.

• Students can take between 6 to 10 credits each semester except for the 20-credit dissertation

• Students must submit an 18-credit dissertation

With the knowledge and research skills acquired, the graduates will be able to work in academic environments within the country and across national boundaries, produce knowledge and elevate and expand the Islamic culture and civilization with respect to history of Ahl-e Bayt (a.s).

The Shiite school has had numerous troubles in the history of Islam. A thorough and specialized understanding of the school of Ahl-e Bayt (a.s) and its historical development will be effective in its expansion.

Any planning and Islamic dissemination concerning this school should be based on historical and academic information about governments, sects and Muslim thinkers. This would be achieved through running educational courses. Therefore, arrangement of PhD History of Ahl-e Bayt (a.s) can be effective in terms of showing Ahl-e Bayt (a.s) and improving the position of Shiite school throughout the world. It can also be effective in analyzing the historical roots of the problems in the world of Islam and Shiite school in an academic and methodical way.
