TRAINING COURSE

Definition:

The History of Shiite program is a postgraduate specialized program which analyses the history of Shiite throughout history and assesses its different aspects namely, political, social, cultural, and others, in the world of Islam.

Program Objectives:

Methodically and scientifically explaining the Shiite as one of the most important and most effective Islamic sects in the history of Islam.
Defending Shiite based on historical aspects against doubts
Analyzing the historical developments of Shiite in order to recognize the truths
Assessing the grounds and reasons of establishment and fall of Shiite governments throughout history
Familiarizing with geographical distribution of Shiite throughout history so as to recognize the proper grounds for utilization.
Presenting the role of Shiite in civilization

Importance and Necessity:

Among the history of nations, the accounts of the Shiite Muslims have considerable importance. Since with the historical knowledge about them, we can find out about the history of the Imams (a.s) and beside that we understand about Shiite governments, sects, scholars and acquire a better understanding of the Shiites which results in a proper planning. In addition, since the scholars of Al-Mustafa International University come from different parts of the Islamic world, acquiring this knowledge is twice as necessary for them.

Program Structure:

The program is studied over 5 semesters
System of education is credit based
Theoretical credits are16 hours studied over 16-week semesters
Practical credits are 32 hours

There are a total of 64 credits studied in the MA History of Shiite program. The majority of the credits are theoretical and researched based. The credits are divided into two categories as:

Role and Effectiveness:

The graduates of this program, with the acquired skills gained from historical studies, will be able to function as expert researchers inside and outside their countries and work in academic institutions. They can also continue their education and have a more effective role in expansion and elevation of the Shiite culture and civilization as well as exhibiting it to different societies and be useful in achieving the abovementioned objectives.
