1-1.Hawza System (levels) 1-1-1.Levels One and Two In the levels one and two the students are introduced to Islamic subjects especially jurisprudence and principles of the religion. During this phase, besides the subjects of literature, logic, principles and jurisprudence, other subjects such as interpretation of Qur’an, theology, philosophy, history of Islam and … are also taught and students present their final dissertation whose value is two units.

1-1-2. Level Three This level is based on Hawza subjects where the students pass certain units of jurisprudence and principles and become familiar with the subjects in an specialized manner and at the end, they present their final research that is worth 4 units.

1-1-3.Level Four: This is a taught and research course that is solely based on the Hawza subjects and completely relies on jurisprudence and principles’ subjects, subjects of Dars-e-kharij of jurisprudence and principles and their prerequisites, and is presented to the students in forms of research, lectures and documentary, analysis and reviews. The level includes two programs: A. Four-year educational program In this program, students educational duties include three points: 1.Participating in Dars-e-kharij of principles and jurisprudence of Hawza 2.Passing completion subjects 3.Attending the classes of the advisors of Dars-e-kharij. B. One-year research program During this period students will compile their scientific treatises in one of the subjects of principles, jurisprudence and related subjects to these. This is worth 6 units.

1-1-4. Level Five (Ijtihad) Al-Mustafa International University has taken measures on launch of level Five of jurisprudence and principles, following the macro policy that is based on the development of academic and research higher levels, and in order to reveal the hidden talents of students, and also for fulfilling the duties mentioned in the strategic document, the most important of which is training of cultured and aware instructors, researchers, translators, mujtahids and theoreticians who are capable of managing academic and cultural complexes and are well-versed in Islamic sciences and teachings of Ahl-ul-Bait (AS). This is a sub-specialist course and is on the highest level of educational courses offered by Al-Mustafa University. It is presently being taught in the subject of jurisprudence and principles with the purpose of training specialist scholars. Level Five, is a combination of educational and research activities in which the elites and scholars of Al-Mustafa University carry their full-time scientific activities (study, research and teaching) based on the approved program and seek the power of deduction, independent reasoning and expertise in jurisprudence and principles.
