TRAINING COURSE

Definition:

PhD Contemporary Theological Movements in the World of Islam program is the highest educational level concerning modern issues in the Islamic religions. Students conduct research studies and participate in taught courses and learn about theological issues, theories and major scholars in the modern Islam and over successful completion of the program they are conferred PhD Contemporary Theological Movements in the World of Islam.

Objectives:

Recognizing contemporary developments in the field of theology within the world of Islam
Instructing researchers and specialists in the field
Instructing lecturers to teach postgraduate and undergraduate students of Seminary schools and universities
Expanding the field of study

Educational Policies:

Having attention to moral and spiritual values of students
Encouraging students towards research-based studies through allocating 50 per cent of credits and the thesis to research works
Instructing skillful and knowledgeable researchers who are capable of developing new issues within the field of theology
Applying modern educational techniques and providing effective research tools for the students
Developing students academic skills in teaching, disseminating, translating and writing
Increasing students skills in critiquing, discussing, and evaluating different related aspects and providing answers to new questions raised against Islamic theology
Considering proximity of Islamic religions and emphasizing on the principles and teachings of Ahl-e Bayt

Admission:

Applicants who studied MA Islamic religions can apply for the program.
Applicants with other backgrounds shall pass the pre-requisite course units

Programs structure and duration:

Total credits of the program are 58
The program is studied in five years (inclusive of the thesis)
Students shall present a thesis calculated as 18 credits
Each theological credit takes 16 hours and each practical one takes 32 hours
