Definition:
MA Cultural Sociology is a program during which students are familiarized with relevant courses. Over successful completion of the programs, students are conferred MA Cultural Sociology Certificate.
Importance and Necessity: Basically, Al-Mustafa universitys students need to develop their knowledge in the Humanities fields. The Islamic viewpoints and theories prepares them for participating in academic environment and knowing different cultures and social groups can help students communicate effectively with other social groups. Becoming skillful in critiquing and assessing social issues within culture makes this program more important and ignoring such skills may cause cultural damages for countries and destruction of their societies.
Role and effectiveness: Graduates of the program can become skillful in education, research, and dissemination within the field of sociology. Some of the skills graduates develop include: conducting research studies within Islamic culture and society; formulating Islamic model within the field of cultural issues; teaching sociology in international Islamic universities; critiquing and analyzing western social theories; formulating new theories within cultural sociology and finally getting prepared for higher educational levels.
