Definition:
MA Cultural Communication is an interdisciplinary program between cultural communication and dissemination
Note: The programs content is about the dialogue of Islamic society, i.e. such dialogue is assessed technically during the program. It means how a Muslim individual applies cultural communication in dissemination to deliver Islamic values and the school of Ahl-e Bayt (a.s) to diverse addressees (followers of different religions and denominations living in different countries and cultures) The programs title (cultural communications) does not mean the graduates’ skills are limited only to cultural dissemination. Graduates of this program can also theorize within the field of dissemination and cultural communications management.
Importance and necessity:
Delivering religious message also means rendering religious and cultural values. Cultural communication is the major channel for transferring such messages. There are many questions regarding the channels of communication; e.g. where these channels are created? Where is the source of channel and where is the target of the channel? What are the types and how each type should act? ‘‘Dissemination’’ is one of the major responsibilities of seminary school, which selects the types, time and specifications of channels and assesses the dissemination needs and according to the information and requirements, the seminary school selects a proper type of message and channel and then delivers the message. Consequently, seminary school analyzes the impact and effect of its selection. The field of cultural communication (which is descriptive) connects with ‘‘dissemination’’, which is prescriptive, and they both complete each other. Todays world and its structure requires Al-Mustafa University to pave the way for delivering the values and messages of Islam to the world. The program MA Cultural Communication is going to prepare the ground for such purpose.
