TRAINING COURSE

Definition:

Ahl-e Bayt Studies MS. is a specialized program during which students learn the course units and over successful completion of the program they will receive their master degree.

General Objectives:

Instructing teachers to teach Ahl-e Byat course units to undergraduate students

Instructing researchers in the field

Instructing knowledgeable scholars in the field of study of Ahl-e Bayt

Instructing disseminators Note: disseminator here means the one who delivers the message of religion

Instructing distinct students to advance to PhD programs

Educational goals and policies-

Encouraging student to conduct research through allocating at least 30 per cent of course units to research-based modules

Developing students skills so that they can comprehend related literature

Promoting moral and spiritual issues in students and providing an atmosphere for promoting ethical values

Learning jurisprudence and principles of Islamic laws

Basing the curriculum on team-working activities and applying effective educational methods

Allocating 50 per cent of course units to seminary modules in order to develop students knowledge in seminary course units

Considering students regional needs

Admission:

Graduates of Shiite Studies can apply for this program. Note: Students with other backgrounds can apply for the program; however, they shall pass the pre-requisite course modules.

Program structure and duration:

Program is designed based on semesters and modules.

The program duration is five semesters and the total volume of credits is 74

Each theoretical credit takes 16 hours and practical credit takes 32 hours

Necessity and importance:

Considering effective role of Ahl-e Bayt as the successors of the Prophet and as the ones who explained the Quran after the Prophet, it is necessary for the world of Islam to become familiar with attitude, history and sayings of Ahl-e Bayt. Moreover, as there are several doubts raised against Ahl-e Bayt and there are efforts to weaken Ahl-e Bayts knowledge, religious and political position it is necessary to learn about them and help others to learn about them without having bios viewpoints and in an academic way. Besides, this program is a unique program not run in other universities and this fact makes it a must for this program to be administered.

Abilities and skills developed:

Over successful completion of the program, students learn the position of Ahl-e Bayt and will be able to defend them in academic fields within the Islam world. They will also be able to promote Muslim unity and proximity with knowledge and precise information.
