TRAINING COURSE

The MA Islamic Philosophy is a specialized program through which students deeply understand the course units and after successful completion of the program they receive MA in Islamic Philosophy.

Program’s General Objectives:

Instructing lecturer
Instructing researcher in philosophical subjects
Training disseminator
Note: the meaning of disseminator taken here is someone who delivers the message of religion
Instructing talented students for advancing to doctorallevel.

Educational Goals and Policies:

Encouraging students for research (through allocating 30% of the credit times to research work)
Developing students’ analytical understanding of Islamic Philosophy
Developing the students’ skills in authoring, teaching and translating philosophy related materials.
Developing students’ skills in using technical philosophical texts
Allocating a minimum of 50% of credits to seminary courses in ordertostrengthening students’ seminary characters
Internalizing moral and spiritual characters in students
Having attention to the students’ regional needs

Admission:

The applicants’ graduate degree should be Islamic Philosophy. Note:Applicants with non-relevant background should pass the prerequisites.

Program Structure:

The MA Islamic Theology program consists of 64 credits, studied over 5 semesters. Students can take up 12 credits per semesters.
Theoretical and practical credits are 16 and 32 hours respectively.
Students should present a dissertation at the end of the program which accounts for 4 credits.

Note:

Students should take up and pass 10 of the credit units marked with ‘’*’’
If deemed necessary, the faculties can make some elective course units compulsory for some students
The faculties can present and run 6 credits as prerequisite for language.
Regional needs are considered when developing the syllabus and are based on the followings:
oSocio-political issues, Quran and Traditions, and Philosophical issues.
