Objectives:

Instructing lecturers in theology
Instructing researchers in theological subjects
Training disseminators
Note: the meaning taken by disseminator is someone who delivers the message of religion
Instructing talented students to advance to doctoral level

Educational Policies:

Encouraging students to carry out research (through allocating 30% of credit times to research works)
Developing a critical understanding of arguments relevant to theology
Developing the skills of authoring, teaching and translating in relevant fields
Allocating a minimum 50% of the credits to seminary subjects in order to expand the students; knowledge in seminary subjects.
Internalizing students’ moral and spiritual characters
Having attention to students’ regional needs

Admission:

The applications are assessed based on relevant undergraduate degrees and according to the General and Specific Admission Regulations.

Note: Applicants with non-relevant background should pass the prerequisites according to the regulations.

Program Structure:

The MA Islamic Theology program consists of 64 credits, studied over 5 semesters. Students can take up 12 credits per semesters.

Theoretical and practical credits are 16 and 32 hours respectively.

Students should present a dissertation at the end of the program which accounts for 4 credits.

Necessity:

The necessity of recognizing and knowing religious teachings and beliefs in detail is obvious, and besides, the questions and doubts raised by the enemies necessitated running this program so as to provide feedback to the doubts and questions and expand the theological arguments.

Role and effectiveness:

Through acquiring specialized knowledge, the graduates can become researcher, disseminator and lecturer in theological fields and by doing so they can play a more effective part in elevation and expansion of the Islamic culture.
