Definition: The BA Islamic Teachings and Psychology is a program which helps students learn seminary subjects, Islamic teachings and get familiarwith specialized courses in psychology; over successful completion of the program they receive BA in Islamic Teachings and Psychology. Objectives: 1.Familiarizing learners with seminary modules 2.Familiarizing students with the fundamental reflections of Islam 3.Familiarizing learners with specialized subjects in psychology in proportion with BA level 4.Instructing experts in psychology insisting upon the teachings of Islam 5. Developing the students skills in teaching and dissemination so that they can explain and disseminate the religion of Islam and defend its teachings 6.Harnessing research skills of the learners in the field of psychology insisting upon Islam resources 7.Helping talented students to advance to postgraduate level in psychology Program structure: The BA Islamic Teachings and Psychology is studied over 5 years The education system is credit-based Theoretical credits are 16 hours studied over 16-week semesters Practical credits are 32 hours studied over 16-week semesters The syllabus is a combination of traditional teachings of seminary schools such as pre-studies, studies, discussions and internships and educational experiences of universities and the modern technologies in teaching and researching. Course Units: There are a total of 183 courses to be studied. The majority of the courses are theoretical and research-based. The courses are divided intofour categories as: 1. Seminary 2. Role and Effectiveness: Through the knowledge acquired and skills developed after the completion of the program, the graduate are able to act as learned disseminators and experts in teaching and disseminating the religion of Islam in an ideal manner and defend the true Islam of the Prophet Mohammad (s.a). They can function in academic and cultural institutions. They can also advance to postgraduate level and continue their education and research and have a more effective role in expansion and elevation of Islam and explaining it to the truth-seekers and the ones stepping in the path of Villayat. Importance and Necessity: When the messenger of Islam, Prophet Mohammad (s.a) opened the doors to the rules and principles of Islam and the divine teachings as the science applied in personal and social life and gave man the knowledge that could be utilized for nurturing others and provided everyone with the guidance to praying and worshipping and invited man to the guidance, He gave all the spiritual and scientific privileges to his faithful and committed heirs (seminary schools) so that they open the doors of divine wisdom and God-given plan for life to those who have a thirst for knowledge. This major objective and divine mission is achievable only through scientific endeavor and great perseverance. Developing the psychology program is just part of the mentioned mission that we are following the course so that through instructing the learned experts in the field of religious teachings and the secrets of knowledge could take effective steps and fulfill the responsibilities that the Prophet and the Imams have assigned for the religious scholars. It is quite obvious that carrying out the abovementioned mission and achieving such goals is, without a doubt, an intellectual and traditional objective which can not be overlooked. Course Units: a.
